Comments give you the flexibility to add additional textual information, which makes VisibleLogistics more flexible than software that forces you to split information into specific boxes. Structured data works well within a single organisation, but less well for sharing information with other organisations.
Comments on orders also trigger notifications, which means that you can use comments as a simple alternative to e-mail, for communicating with the other parties on an order. The advantage of using comments to discuss an order is that the sequence of comments is preserved for anyone who is authorised to view the order details, even if they get access after the conversation started.
