VisibleLogistics makes it easy to create and manage information about orders. This involves creating and editing an order, then adding or editing order lines.

Create a new order

Use the order creation page to enter information that is necessary for the order to be fulfilled. None of the fields on this form are mandatory, so you have the flexibility to follow your own business process at your own pace.

The order creation form has features to allow you to choose between browsing data that you have used on previous orders, or typing values directly.

Select the partners who are related to the order, using the Contact management pop-up window or by entering an abbreviation.

Fill in the order date and time, and the delivery due date and time of. You can select a date using the calendar menu, and select the correct local time zone from a list.

Enter a delivery address, by choosing an address from a pop-up window or typing it directly. Although you can select a country from a long list, it is usually quicker to just type the first few letters of a country name or a two-letter country code.

Specify shipment terms, such as the standard Incoterms that you can select from the pop-up window.

Edit an order

From the order details page, you can add and manage order lines, add comments and tags and view the order's history and status.

Add order lines: enter the description of the actual items that need to be shipped, or select an item from a list of items in a catalogue catalogue, and enter the quantity of items ordered.

Tag the order so you can use the search function to easily find this order and others like it.

Comment on the order, as an easy way to record additional information, and communicate with third-parties to the order.

Update the order's status.

Attach documents to the order, to save original documentation or additional information.

View order details

After you have created a new order, the order details page shows the information you entered and provides options for adding more information, such as order lines.

The order details page has links and tabs that show more information about the order.

  • Change History shows all of the changes that you and third parties have made to the order's information, so you can see what changed and when.
  • Status History shows the order's progression through its supply chain life-cycle, with dates and comments.

You can navigate to this order details page from various pages in the application by using order key hyperlinks.
